Thomas Wayne Runyan, 87, of Westminster, CO., passed away on September 8, 2014. He died at his home at the Covenant Village in Westminster, CO. There will be a memorial service at the Covenant Village. Funeral services will be held at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington, Wyoming September 13th. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Mr. Runyan was born June 20, 1927 in Texhoma, Oklahoma the son of Thomas H and Margie (Scott) Runyan. He attended schools in Texas and Oklahoma and graduated from high school in College Springs, IA in 1946. He then enlisted in the US Navy, where he served almost two years.He met his bride-to-be, Miss Vena McDaniel, while attending Tarkio( MO) College and they were married December 24, 1946 at the Old United Presbyterian Church in Torrington, WY. He worked for the University of California while finishing his degree in Electronic Engineering at San Diego State College. After graduation he worked for General Dynamics doing design work on computer controlled checkout equipment for the Atlas Missiles and F-111,F-16 and B-2 military planes. His work took him to various bases in the US, Belgium and Germany. In 1989 he retired, moving to Loveland, CO and then in 2004 they moved to the Covenant Village of Colorado in Westminster (retirement community). He was an avid Genealogist.Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Glen Harvey Runyan and Ivan Eugene Runyan and also an infant brother.
