Age 84, of Circleville, passed away at Pendleton Manor. Son of the late Jesse Howard and Tena Bell (Sponaugle) Bennett. He was a graduate of Circleville High School and a member of Circleville Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the Korean conflict including 15 months on front-line duty.
June 1, 1956, he married Dorothy 'Dot' L. (Nelson) Bennett, she survives.
Also survived by a daughter Teresa L. Harper of Seneca Rocks; a son Gregory Howard (Cindy) Bennett of Circleville; a sister Hazel B. Simmons of Circleville; 4 grandchildren: Lisa Marie Shahan, Joanie Carr, Betsy Bland, Amy Cook; 4 great-grandchildren: Jaimee Carr, Tyler Carr, Matthew Shahan, Makenzie Shahan; multiple nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one brother Fred Bennett; a brother-in-law Edgar L. Simmons; a sister-in-law Joyce Mounts Bennett.
Services were held at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Rev. Paul O'Gorek. Burial in the Bennett Family Cemetery, Upper Timber Ridge, Circleville, with military graveside services conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
