Rebecca Fluence Criddle, a homemaker, died of kidney failure at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 88. Mrs. Criddle was born in Plaquemine and lived in New Orleans for the past 56 years. She was a member of Law Street Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons, Raymond Criddle of Chicago, Ronald Criddle of Austin, Texas, and Nehemiah, A. Ira, Ernest and Earl ; three daughters, Vera C. Clarke of Oxon Hill, Md., and Janice C. Carter and Fannie Lois Criddle; a brother Joseph Fluence of Chicago; four sisters, Ann Washington of Victorville, Calif.; Rosalie Thomas of Chicago, Martha Wright of Van Nuys, Calif., and Dorothy Turner of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A wake and funeral will be held today at 8 p.m. at Law Street Baptist Church. Dismisal will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in Resthaven Cemetery. Tharp-Sontheimer-Laudumiey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
