Edward Foree Rea, age 83, passed away Friday, March 3rd, at the St. Luke Hospital-East in Ft. Thomas, Ky.

Mr. Rea was born September 30, 1922 in Gallatin County. He was the son of the late Howard and Roberta Foree Rea. Edward was also preceded in death by a daughter: Lonna Karen Rea and one sister: Mary Mildred Crouch. Mr. Rea was a veteran having served his country in the Army during World War II. He was also a former Judge in Gallatin County as well as Sheriff. In his later years, he worked for Wal-Mart in Florence and the friends he had there meant a lot to him.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Sutton Rea whom he married on October 3, 1942. Also surviving are a son: Bill Rea, and wife Paige, of Lexington, Ky. two brothers: Robert Howard Rea of Warsaw and Harry Lee Rea of Florence; one grandson: Grant C. Rea of Lexington; and two great grandchildren: Garrett and Isabel Rea both of Lexington.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7th, at the Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home in Warsaw, from 4 until 8 pm. Funeral services for Mr. Rea will be held on Wednesday, March 8th, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Bro. Hardin Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in the Warsaw Cemetery.

Donations are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, The Gallatin County EMS, The Tadmore Lodge # 108, or the Church of your choice.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Dennis Herndon, Dennis Rea, Bobby Rea, Ramone Pretilina, Henry Snyder, Bob McCurdy, Danny McCord, and John Ward. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be: Bubbie Hall, Charlie Farmer, Barry Stewart, Steve Conrad, Jim Barnes, and Jim Stock.
