He was reared in New Orleans, LA where he graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School. After graduation he worked as an orderly at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. In September 1965, he was inducted into the United States Army, where he served two years and received an honorable discharge. After his discharge, he relocated to Washington, DC and began a career with the National Park Service. There he progressed from a recreational specialist to an electrician and a plumber. After near 30 of service he retired on disability in January 1998.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Delma W. Criddle, his son, David Allen Wilson, a granddaughter, Tiffany of Enfield, NC; his mother, Rebecca F. Criddle of New Orleans, LA, six brothers, Nehemiah, Ira, Ernest, and Earl of New Orleans, Raymond Criddle of Chicago, IL and Ronald Criddle of Austin, TX; three sisters: Vera C. Clarke of Oxon Hill, MD, Janice C. Carter and Fannie Lois Criddle of New Orleans; seven sisters-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
