Agnes had deep roots in the Tomah community. She worked for Tomah Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse for three years and later as the director of nursing for over 13 years. She also worked for Mubarak-Landman Clinic for 17 years and at Tomah Health Care Center for 18 years until her retirement. Although Agnes retired from nursing, she continued to do consultation work for various local facilities and continued to provide nursing care for her brother Frank. Agnes was dedicated to her profession; she has put on countless miles on her feet and has spent countless hours in the pursuit of nursing excellence. Throughout the years, Agnes has touched many lives, from the gentle touch of those she cared for or educating new nursing into the nursing field, her legacy of kindness and compassion will carry on. In her leisure time, Agnes enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross-stitching, embroidering and crocheting. She especially enjoyed making quilts. She also had a great love and appreciation for music. She was a pianist and was a member of the Tomah Concert Association, serving as past secretary. Agnes was a lifelong, faithful and devoted member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and served on the P.C.C.W. She also was a member of the Cherry Valley Homemakers club. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and trying new recipes.
