Donald Hale "Corky" Zittle, 72, of 9816 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at his home.

Born June 20, 1932, in Mount Lena, Md., he was a son of the late Alvey Hale Zittle and Daisy Irene Faulders Zittle Faulder and his late stepfather, Frank Binford Faulder (135908677).

His wife, Betty Elizabeth Coss Zittle, died Oct. 26, 1997.

Donald was a retired employee of Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Donald was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.

He was a member of Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown, Conococheague Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 in Williamsport and AMVETS Post 10 in Hagerstown.

Donald is survived by
two daughters,
Donna J. Fogle and husband David of Hagerstown, and
Susan E. Makin and husband Thomas of Boonsboro;
one half brother,
Douglas Zittle of Middletown, Md.;
two half sisters,
Janis Deardorff of Frederick, Md., and
Jean Vaugh of Plant City, Fla.;
three grandchildren,
Matthew Shuman and
Sarah Shuman, both of Hagerstown, and
Colin Makin of Boonsboro;
one stepgranddaughter,
Kimberly Brown and husband Tommy of Hagerstown;
one sister-in-law,
Marie Wilber of Hagerstown;
special friend,
Carolyn Isenhour of Statesville, N.C.; and
two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Revs. Loyal H. Vanderveer and Gregory Shook will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery near Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown MD 21742.
