ORIE BECKLER
Orie Beckler, 51, of Friend, died Saturday, Sept. 10. He was born at Beaver Crossing on Sept. 25, 1931 to William and Anna Roth Beckler. He married Alice Paulsen in August, 1953. He was a Korean War veteran, a farmer and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cordova, and the Beaver Crossing American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Alice; two sons, Kurt, stationed with the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and William "Bill" of Friend; two daughters, Lisa (Mrs. Marvin) Yoder of Sarasota, Fla., and Rachael of Friend; three brothers, Lawrence of Seward, Robert of Beaver Crossing and Charles of Friend; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. Roland) Jantzi of Newport, Ore., Edna (Mrs. Wallace) Stauffer of New Market, Va., and Donna (Mrs. Orlen) Stauffer of Beaver Crossing; one grandson.

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cordova, Pastor Paul Konig officiating. Burial was in the Zastrow Cemetery, Cordova. Pallbearers were Robert Anderson, William Tate, Ray Gard, Marvin Kraus, Joe Hassler and Monty Petersen.
