Dorothy Jardine Washburn 85. Wife of the late Herman Jardine, died 5-10-1992 at a Caribou health care facility. She was born in Caribou 7-20-1906 the daughter of David and Frances (McGuire) Steeves. She was a member and past treasurer of the Washburn Methodist Church. She was a member of the Washburn Senior Citizens, past worthy matron of the former Coldvale Chapter No.110 of Eastern Star and past president of the BPW. She was very active in the Republican Party. She was instrumental in establishing the Washburn Medical Center and was on the school board for many years. She was a avid golfer. Surviving are a son and daughter in law, David and Patsy Jardine of Daleville, Alabama, 1 brother, James Steeves of Aiken, SC., 1 sister, Frances Belanger of Presque Isle, 6 grandchildren, Conni Bouchard of North Hollywood, CA., David Jardine II of Macon, GA., Kriss Jardine of New Orleans, LA., Larry Castleberry of Virginia Beach, VA., Gary Castleberry of York, PA. and Lisa Davidson of Williamsburg, VA., 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchuildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Castleberry in 1969. Burial Crouseville cemetery.
