Richard had resided in Edison for 45 years. He was a graduate of New York University and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was the first Chief Financial Officer for The Diocese of Metuchen, a position he held for 17 years until his retirement in 1997. Prior, he had been employed by GMAC in New York, NY for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Monica Gerrity, his brother Thomas, and sisters Mary, Katie and Veronica.
