Justin Melvin Byrne
1972 - 2014

Early Life: Justin was born May 13, 1972, in Provo, Utah, to Jack Melvin and Bonnee Ruth Barnard Byrne. He was the oldest of nine children and grew up mostly in Westlake, Ohio, where he graduated from high school in 1990.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Justin served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan, from 1991 to 1993. He loved his mission dearly! He was married and sealed to Lori JaNene Tanner on August 20, 1994, in the Manti Utah Temple. Justin graduated with an associate degree from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, in 1995 and then his bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Utah Valley University. His degree was in business management. Justin and Lori lovingly welcomed four children into their family: Ashley, McKay, Spencer and Carly. Justin loved and was so proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them hiking, fishing and playing games. He loved the outdoors and participated in many sports and outdoor activities. As an active member of the Church, Justin served faithfully in many callings. His favorite was the calling he held until he died; Scoutmaster of the Canyon Ridge Ward. He loved the youth, working with them, and was so proud to see them serving and preparing to serve church missions of their own. Justin was employed by PreCorp for the past 14 years and loved his work family! He appreciated all they did to support him, especially after he was diagnosed with cancer. Loving husband and father, son and brother, scoutmaster and friend, Justin Melvin Byrne passed from this life on September 15, 2014. He lost a valiant fight against cancer, but in the process he won the battle of proving himself in this life. His faith, endurance, and strength will long be remembered.
Family Message: "He will remain a huge part of our family that remains here on earth. We will miss him greatly, but find peace in knowing where he is and that he will still be watching over us with an increased capacity now as one of our family’s guardian angels. We very much appreciate the huge amount of love and support that has been so generously given to our family over the past 2 years! We’ve been so blessed and amazed beyond words! Justin – No more walker or crutches. No more pain and suffering. No more medicine or needles. No more cancer. YOU ARE FREE!!! We will always love you – 1..2..3.. forever!"
