Mr. Samuel Black Dead
“Mr. Samuel Black, 86 years old, a native of Baltimore, but who for the last 17 years had lived at Glyndon, at the home of his son-in-law Dr. T. Rowe Price, died early yesterday morning of infirmities of age. The death of Mr. Black’s wife, Mrs. Margaret C. Black, about six months ago, seemed to prey on his mind.
“Mr. Black was a retired builder. He built many houses in Northwest Baltimore. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret E. Horn and Mrs. T. Rowe Price, and four sons, Mssrs. Samuel W., W. Sumter, Walter F. and H. Edgar Black.
“His funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Loudon Park Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Copes of Glyndon Methodist Episcopal Church, and Rev. Robert Weech, of Fayette Street Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate. The pall bearers will be six of his grandsons and two lifelong friends – Mssrs. Duncan Black, Millard Black, Walter Black, Hubert Black, George L. Horn and Samuel Horn, W. M. McKerney and Emery Warfield.”
