Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Sunday, April 25, 2004:

Robert Hall Livingston, 87, of Jefferson City died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born July 18, 1916 in Jefferson City, a son of Joseph Hall and Laura Mae Tirrell Livingston.

He was a 1934 graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended Jefferson City Junior College.

He was married August 5, 1938 in Camdenton to Dorothy Lee Crowder, who survives at the home.

Robert started his career selling newspaper subscriptions for the old St. Louis Star-Times, becoming the paper's top salesman, covering a 50 county area. He also bought and sold used cars that he came across while traveling his newspaper territory. Around 1945, while building his own home, Robert decided to get into he home building business. He developed several subdivisions in the west end of Jefferson City, with several streets named after himself and his family. He also was an oil jobber, scouting out locations for the major oil companies to build filling stations in central Missouri and built several of his own stations.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.

Other survivors include: five children, Marilyn Stefanec, Bob Livingston, Laura Sanderson, Jana Nocula and Pam Kroeger, all of Jefferson City; two brothers, John David Livingston of Mountain Home, Ark., and William Paul Livingston of Dover, Del.; one sister, Marge Estes Lewis of Jefferson City; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors-Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors-Jefferson City Chapel with the Rev. Burnell Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the March of Dimes. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main, 636-3838.
