John was the son of William Krul and Wilhelmina Schulte. On 16 Oct 1905 he married Rose Kluth. The couple never had any children. John was a well-known pharmacist who had previously owned three drugstores. He was a past president and secretary of the Louisville Retail Druggists Association and secretary of the Louisville Veterans Druggists Association. John died at Deaconess Hospital of valvular heart disease at the age of 73.
