The deceased became associated with Buffalo Bill in the years Cody was located in Wyoming at which time he was in the height of his adventures in the west. Mr. Howell was one of the most intimate friends Cody had, and he knew more of Cody's personal affairs than any other acquaintance he had while in his company, according to information given by friends [sic] of the deceased. Mr. Howell told interesting stories many times of his historic adventures with Buffalo bill and the Indians. Mr. Howell's death will be widely mourned by not only his friends here but in Kansas and Wyoming as well.
