Theresa Marie DeKeyzer, 22, born in Eastpointe, Michigan, passed away on June 15, 2014 as the result of a homicide. She was born October 28, 1991 to Marie and William (deceased 2010) DeKeyzer. The fifth born of eight children.

Theresa is survived by her mother, three brothers & two sisters; her maternal grandmother; her nephew; and niece; her roommate and best friend;, along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Theresa is preceded by her father William, 2010, maternal grandfather Leonard Gudenau, 2010, and paternal grandmother Diane, 2014.

Theresa was living in Warren, Michigan, and her immediate family resides in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. After homeschooling through elementary school, Theresa attended Kelly Middle School, and graduated from Lakeview High School in 2010. Theresa enjoyed her job at Tim Horton's for 5 years.

Theresa's creative spirit and positive energy will always be a part of those who knew her. Her enthusiasm and passion for life are contagious and will always be an inspiration to those she leaves behind. She spoke her mind and never apologized for it. She stood her ground for what she knew to be right and she lived life loudly. Theresa loved music and she loved to dance. She was full of tremendous talent and she expressed her creativity via painting, drawing, writing, and creating beautiful jewelry. Her deep spirituality and love for Mother Nature earned her the nickname "Tree".

A funeral mass will be held for Theresa at 10:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, located at 21100 Madison Street in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. She will later be buried at Assumption Grotto Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will be held for Theresa at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Gator Jake's Bar & Grill, located at 36863 Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
