Nancy Parker, 74, died November 22, 2011 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on March 6, 1937 in Brixey, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd and Radie (James) Garner. Nancy grew up in Missouri. She worked as a waitress and a cook in many different restaurants. Nancy lived in Ava, Missouri and Enid, Oklahoma before returning to Dodge City in 2008. She loved to play bingo, cards, and yahtzee. Nancy also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City. Nancy is survived by a daughter, Karen Clare of Dodge City; a son, Ricky Garner of Ava, Missouri; two brothers, Joe Frank Garner and John Garner both of Ava, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband,Doy Parker; a daughter, Rita Hamilton; her parents; five sisters, Geneva High, Virginia Cooper, Thelma Piland, Dora Everett, and Nora Webster; two brothers, Earl Garner and Clifford Garner. Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Inurnment will follow at Ensign Cemetery in Ensign. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Nancy Parker Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
