Arvel was married to Gilda Estelle Bamburg and stepdad to her 4 children Clarence and Alan Koch, and Lavern and Justin Lisenbee. Arvel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lee and Willie Stewart, one brother Aden James Stewart (AJ), his wife Glida, and 3 of his step-children Clarence Koch, Allen Koch, and Justin Lisenbee. He is survived by his stepdaughter Lavern Lisenbee Boyd, Two sisters, Willie Stewart Lawler, Edna Stewart Tatum, Two brothers, Raymond and Jack Stewart. Arvel leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
