William Deppe was born June 25, 1920 in Baraboo WI, the son of Morris and Doris Deppe.

He graduated from Baraboo High School and studied electrical engineering at Lawrence College and University of Wisconsin. Smitten by the love of flying, he was an aviator during WWII, including a flight instructor.

He began work for American Airlines in 1943, flying transatlantic flights in the later years of WWII, being in Paris on VE Day.

He flew many plane types in his 37 year career with American, starting on the DC-3 in the 1940's then to passenger jets, retiring in 1980 as a 747 captain.

He and Margaret Souther married in 1942 and raised five children in Glendale.Bill and Sandra Bright married in June 1998, in Marina del Rey where they resided.

The enjoyed travel, FOX News, bridge, online trading and watching sunsets.

He enjoyed woodworking, sailboats, biking, gardening and managing the Margaret S Deppe wheat farms at Fallon MT, where he and Sandie often spent time.

He was instrumental in establishing Terry's Lady Evelyn Cameron Gallery.

Mr Deppe, 83, passed away February 13, 2004.
