JULIA M. BROOKS died March 18, 2011, peacefully at home at the age of 91. She was born May 9, 1919 in Houston, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee Roy Brooks, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, William D. Brooks and wife, Frances, Vernon E. Brooks and wife, Maria, Anne Farrell and husband, Jim, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother, Vernon E. Tauer and wife, Carmen, and many nieces and nephews.After retiring from Eckerd's at Bingle and Little York where she worked in the pharmacy for many years, she volunteered at NAM and the food pantry at her church. She enjoyed all the church activities with her friends especially the exercise classes, PrimeTimers, her Circle, her bible study group and her Sunday School class.A memorial service will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 5900 Pinemont, Houston, Texas, 77092, at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2001. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Giles food pantry in her memory.
