Husband of Alexina.

Firefighter Anderson died in the line of duty.

He was a member of Engine 2 and died of a heart attack brought on by over-exertion while at a fire that destroyed the former Holy Family Institute at 366 South Street*.

The fire began near the chimney of the main building. High winds and poor water pressure contributed to the swift movement of the flames, with embers drifting and landing in wooded areas, nearby homes & vehicles.

*The complex that now includes the South Street Elementary School and the Administrative Building, formerly occupied by Sisters of the Presentation.
