He was married about 1911 to Lura Harris (1885-1933), the daughter of Anderson Harris.
A resident of 1028 28th Avenue North, Nashville, he was a porter, a widower and 65 years old when he died at Nashville General Hospital on November 11, 1943 of uremia due to "prostatic hypertrophy." Burial was four days later in Mount Ararat Cemetery, Nashville.
