[1807-1826] Son of John Rawson. He went to sea and drowned – along with 18 other sailors – in a boating accident at Simon's Bay, Cape of Good Hope, on 10th March 1826, when sailing with HMS Owen Glendower. His parents erected a memorial in Halifax Parish Church
