Don A. Greig (above), 82, retired railroad employee, died in his sleep yesterday morning at his residence on Moss Extension in Lafayette.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. today at Delhomme Funeral Home. Intermittent will be in the Protestant Cemetery.
Mr Greig worked with the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1900 to 1939(?) and was employed by the Lafayette Police Force for a period of time after that.
A veteran of the Spanish-American War, he was a member of Lafayette Veterans of Foreign Wars post 2103, the United Spanish War Veterans Anthony Muller Post 8 of New Iberia and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rosalie Landry; one daughter, Mrs Ernest R Ashurst of Laureauville; one son, Don A. Greig Jr., of Lafayette; two half sisters, Miss Louise Greg of Broussard and Mrs. Helen Greg Romero of Lafayette, and three grandchildren.
