A. Arlene Wentzel, 80,
of DuBoistown, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 30, 1933, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Crist and Helen (Bubb) Schonauer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Willard F. Wentzel Sr. in February 2013;
a daughter, Jean Mahaffey in June 2014; and a sister, Clara DeGregory.
Arlene graduated from the Williamsport High School.
She worked at Wentzels Income Tax Preparation and at K&W Transmission as a bookkeeper.
Arlene was a member of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church and had been recently attending DuBoistown United Methodist Church.
She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW No. 7863 DuBoistown, the VFW District No. 15 President, a member of the local Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary, and State President of the Military Order of the Cooties.
Surviving are three children,
Cristine Littley (Richard), of Auburndale, Fla.,
Willard Jr. (Tina), of DuBoistown,
and David Sr. (Helen), of Plattsburg, N.Y.;
a son-in-law, Frank Mahaffey Sr., of Lock Haven;
14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sophie DeGregorio, of Montoursville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will be held at Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders.
