Garry Dale went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He had fought a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 29, 1952, in Putnam County to the late Carl B. and Elese Joyce McGee Allen.
He was retired from the City of Cookeville Electric Department with more than 41 years of service. He loved to collect and trade knives and enjoyed whittling in his spare time. He was in the Cookeville Masonic Lodge 266 and Al-Menah Shriners in Nashville. He was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ for more than 20 years. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.
His family includes his loving wife of 23 years, Sandra Lee Allen of Cookeville; a daughter, Julie and Craig Breen of Cookeville; a brother, Larry David and Tonicka Allen of Algood; two sisters, Vickie and Roy Pippin of Cookeville and Patricia and Larry Meadows of Bloomington Springs; his mother-in-law, Mable Lee of Cookeville; two brothers-in-law, Gary and Sharon Lee of Cookeville and Michael Lee of Cookeville; two aunts, Dimple Allen and Inez McGee of Cookeville; an uncle, Jack and Devonia McGee of Cookeville; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog, Jumpy Do.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda Allen and Linda and Roy Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Charles Allen, Grover Grogan, Tony Peek, Bob Rich, James Smith, John Zoodsma, Paul Zoodsma and Paul Zoodsma Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the City of Cookeville Electric Department.
Bros. Johnny Fox, Kevin Daughrity and Scottie Roberts will be officiating the services.
