CAYCE - Funeral service for Verna Batchelor Jumper, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Cayce, officiated by the Rev. Joe Borgkvist, the Rev. Ken Jumper and the Rev. Terry Wilder. Entombment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this (Thursday) evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cayce, 600 Holland Ave., Cayce, SC 29033.
Mrs. Jumper, wife of Kenneth D. Jumper Sr., died Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Born in Cayce, SC, she was a daughter of the late John B. Batchelor and Bertel Price Batchelor. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cayce.
Survivors are her husband, Kenneth D. Jumper Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Pastor Ken Jumper (Connie) of Lexington, Keith Jumper (Emily) of Lexington, Kelvin Jumper (Lisa) of Swansea, Karl Jumper (Tami) of Irmo, and Kim Jumper (Kimberley) of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jumper was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Batchelor, Thelma Mitchell and Edie O'Neal.
