The funeral will be held March 18 for Clara Irene Harding of Halfway, formerly of Eugene, who died March 9 of age-related causes. She was 91.

Harding was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Corinth, N.D. She married Vernon Harding on June 14, 1940, in Eugene.

She received a master's degree from Monmouth Teachers College and received an Oregon teaching certificate. She had lived in Eugene for 65 years before moving to Halfway in November 2005.

Harding had worked as a teacher and also as an office manager for V.A. Harding Construction Co. She was an avid reader and bridge player. She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years and to the Knights of Pythias, Elks lodge and Moose lodge for more than 50 years.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rhea Gambill of Halfway; two sons, Lon and Redge, both of Eugene; a brother, Clifford Ellefson of Brownsville; two sisters, Peggy Gross of Portland and Gladys Hague of Eugene; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Saturday's service will be held at noon at Springfield Faith Center. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday in Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Memorial contributions may be made to Assembly of God Church missions in care of Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home, 125 N. Main, Halfway, OR 97834.
