William Clyde Herron, 64, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1950, in Connellsville, a son of the late William H. Herron Jr. and Ellanoir (Randolph) Herron. He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2011, he worked for many years as a postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service. He is a member of Franklin United Methodist Church, Dunbar. Bill was an avid classic and antique car enthusiast, music lover, trivia guru and a self-proclaimed "Pyrotechnic Engineer" of Dunbar Borough. He was a loving man with a healthy humor whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Pam (Fink) Herron, of Dunbar; daughter, Alyssa; son, Patrick and wife, Jeanine; grandson, Cru; brother, Mike; mother-in-law, Marilyn (Miller) Fink; sister-in-law, Paulann (Fink) Bunting and husband, Bob, and their sons, Chris, Brandon and Aaron; special cousin, Lynn and husband, David, and their daughter, Jessica and husband, Matt, and the rest of his extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a good friend and special cousin, Bill Kelly; and also many other cousins. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N, Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held at a time to be announced Friday. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
