CANTON — Frances Pauline Mintz Edwards, 89, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

She was a native and a lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late William Reed and Chanie Iva McGaha Mintz.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ellis Edwards, who died Aug. 16, 1992; a daughter, Vivian Annette Edwards; and two grandchildren, Sheri Grey Price, and Douglas Peyton.

Frances was employed with Canton Nursing Home as a CNA; she retired at the age of 79 as a home health nurse. She was a charter member of Mountain View Church of God, where she devoted much of her time and service, and also taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crocheting, volunteering at nursing homes and enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Silver Bluff. Frances will be remembered for being a Christian example to all who knew her and blessed so many of her friends and family by being the hands and feet of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Mountain View Church of God with the Revs. Bobby Brooks, Herman Toney and Larry D. Flippo officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road.
