SALEM - Thomas Arthur Close, 39, of 1787 Whinnery Road, Salem, died at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday,(3/7/06) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh of a short illness. He was born Sept. 12, 1966 in Salem, He had been employed as a truck driver for various companies in the area. Prior to that he had worked at the Salem Community Hospital in the lab for five years. He attended the First Nazarene Church in Salem and served in the U.S. Navy following graduation from high school.
Survivors include his mother; his father and stepmother, a son; three sisters, and paternal grandparents, Preceding him in death was his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Rose) Heck and his stepfather, Paul A. Hildman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Fellenger officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Salineville. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
