Funeral services for Cora Lee Goodyear of San Antonio were held graveside in Mt.Hope Cemetery in Carrizo Springs on Thursday, January12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Goodyear was born March 27, 1917 to James Thomas and Lottie Lee(McDonald) Tumlinson in Bermuda, Dimmit County, Texas, and was reared in the local area. She had lived much of her life in the Aransas pass/Rockport area and had been living in San Antonio for the past year and a half. Mrs. Goodyear wa a member of Rebecca Lodge 143, Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile, and a member of the Baptist Church. She died early the previous Monday morning at the North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio following a brief illness. She was 88 years of age.
She is survived by one daughter, Clara L. Elmore of Alabama; four sons, Tillman E. Frizzell, Jr. of Montell, John L. Frizzell of San Antonio, and Floyd O. Goodyear of Florida; two brothers, Bob Tumlinson of Corpus Christi, and Donald Tumlinson of Uvalde; 22 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Malinda Ann Dees, and a son, James Bailey Frizzell.
Rev. Robert D. Krause, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Carrizo Springs, officiated at the services followed by the Eastern Star committal service. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Leonard Funeral Home.
