Rachel married Runa Rockwell in Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., CT. Nov. 11, 1790. He was b. Feb. 11, 1773 in Ridgefield, CT, the son of Abraham and Esther (Riggs) Rockwell. Runa d. Sept. 24, 1864 in Brookfield, CT. at 91 yrs. of age, at the home of his son, John T. Rockwell. At the time of their marriage, Rachel and Runa were both 17 years old.
Runa Rockwell was a weaver, a farmer, and a captain of militia. He lived on his father's homestead in Ridgebury until late in life, when he went to live with his son, John, in Brookfield, CT.
Runa was commissioned Ensign of the Sixth Company in the 16th Regiment of Militia in the state of Connecticut on Oct. 14, 1796. He was subsequently chosen Captain. Runa joined the Congregational Church at Ridgebury on Srpt. 7, 1823. Rachel was also a member and they were devout Christians. They endowed the Congregational Church at Ridgebury with an annual income to defray current expenses.

Jan. 3, 1783 in Miry Brook, Danbury CT., , d. Oct. 27, 1853 in Danbury, CT., son of Jonas and Mercy (Boughton/Bouton) Benedict. They lived in Miry Brook, where he was a shoemaker, farmer, and Deacon of the Congregational Church in Ridgebury. No children were born to this marriage. He marr., third, Betsey's sister, Polly Rockwell, Feb. 17, 1739, in Ridgefield, CT.
2) Polly, b. Aug. 7, 1795 in Ridgebury, CT., d. Dec. 8, 1866 in Danbury, CT., marr. Feb. 17, 1739 Daniel Benedict. She was his third wife. No children were born of this marriage.
3) Esther, b. Aug. 7, 1797 in Ridgeway, CT., d. Dec. 19, 1881; marr. Nov. 6, 1833 in Carmel, NY, Alanson Birchard, b. Jul. 7, 1796 in Ridgebury, d. Jun. 10, 1833, in Carmel, NY, son of Jeremiah and Elizabeth (Abbott) Birchard, bur. in Ridgebury Ce. Alanson was a cabinet maker and machinist. After marriage, they settled in Carmel, NY. Esther marr., second, on Oct. 20, 1835, in Carmel, NY, Gilbert Travis, b. Mar. 27, 1797, d. Apr. 29, 1863, son of David and Phebe (Hyatt) Travis.
4) John Tallcott, b. Sept. 25, 1801 in Ridgebury, CT. d. Sept. 17, 1881 in Danbury, CT,; marr. Oct. 28, 1823 in Ridgebury, Sarah Benedict, b. Oct. 27, 1805, in Miry Brook, Danbury, CT., d. May 19, 1892. Sarah was the daughter of Daniel and Polly (DeForest) Benedict. He was a successful farmer and member of the Congregational Church.
5) Lucy Maria, b. Aug. 15, 1807 in Ridgebury, CT., d. Sept. 12, 1835 at the home of her parents in Ridgebury. She never married.
6) Samuel Darling, b. Sept. 23, 1810 in Ridgebury, Ct., d. Mar. 24, 1888 in Maryland, bur. in Yonkers; marr. Sept. 9, 1832 in Ridgebury, Oril James Sherman, b. May 21, 1808, daughter of Jacob and Caphira (Janes) Sherman. She was living in New York City with her son, J. W. Rockwell, in 1895. Samuel was a watchmaker, banker, and real estate agent in New York. They lived in Yonkers, NY.
