Sandra Elaine Keuning was born March 19, 1952, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Jake and Arvena Rietveld Schuring. She passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Pella Hospice Comfort House at the age of fifty-six years and seven days.

Sandy received her education in the Pella public schools and graduated from Pella High School with the class of 1970.

On September 15, 1970, Sandy was united in marriage with Charles "Chuck" Keuning. Two sons were born into the family: Kevin and David.

Sandy and Chuck were current members of the Third Reformed Church in Pella where Sandy was a leader in various women's groups. Her special passion was to show faith while working with many youth organizations. She also was active in service organizations throughout the community. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, her bridge group, playing games, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Sandy enjoyed children and gave lots of "grandma love" to her grandchildren, Nicole and Kyler. Sandy had a smile for everyone and touched many lives. Chuck and Sandy worked together for many years to grow the family business of Keuning Plumbing and Heating. After selling the family business, Sandy continued her gift of customer service. Currently she was employed at Midwest One Financial as a service representative.

Those left to honor her memory are: her husband, Chuck; her two sons: Kevin Keuning and his wife, Christine of Pasadena, California, and David and his special friend, Cara Cross of San Marcos, California; two very special grandchildren: Nicole Keuning and Kyler Keuning; her parents: Jake and Arvena Schuring of Pella; her parents-in-law: Harold and Ada Keuning of Pella; her brothers and sister and their spouses: Stan and Diane Schuring, Mike and Cindy Schuring, Paul and Jeana Schuring, Janine and Chris Fontana; extended family members and many wonderful friends.

Sandy will be missed by her family and friends but her memory lives on.
