"Mr. Ambrose Brochu, druggist and one of the most prominent men of Liberty, died at sever o'clock Friday morning of Bright's disease, after a lingering illness extending over eight months.
Mr. Brochu had been in an critical condition for many weeks and was close to death's door on several occasions.
The deceased came to Liberty about twenty years ago and acted as a clerk in Hasbrouck's drug store, and in the meanwhile he attended a school of pharmacy in New York.
About fifteen years ago he and Roger Sears bought William F Sherwood's drug store and the business was conducted under the firm name of Sears & Brochu.
Finally Mr Brochu purchased Mr Sears'; interest and for the last few years it has been conducted as Brochu's Pharmacy.
Mr Brochu was married about eight years ago in Liberty to Miss Nellie O'Keefe, of Parksville, who survives him.
He also leaves three children; Joseph, Gilsey and Eileen, a baby of a few weeks old.
Mr Brochu was a consistent Catholic and always interested in the affairs of St. Peter's Catholic Church, of which he was a devout member.
In politics he was an active Democrat and at the time of his death he was a member of the Democratic County committee.
He also had served two years as Collector in the Town of Liberty.
Mr Brochu was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus and the Order of Elks."
