Elta Gay Brown Amos, 89, departed peacefully this life Monday, September 22, 2014, in Cedar Hills, Utah.

Gay lived most of her life in Grove City, Ohio. She was born on July 2, 1925, in Madison Township, Scioto County, Ohio on the Brown Farm. She was the 9th child of ten, the last of her family. Gay's parents were Charlie R. Brown and B. Alice Allen Brown.

Gay is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Carl Amos; her three daughters, Bobbie Gay (Kelvin) Miller, Vicki Lane (Richard) Murray both of Cedar Hills, Utah and Linda Ann Amos of Tacoma Washington; a great nephew they raised, Arthur Philip Birchum of Ogden, Utah; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 27, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 2400 Red Rock Blvd., Grove City, Ohio, where a visitation will be held prior from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment in Brown Family Cemetery, 2 1/2 miles north of Minford, Scioto County, Ohio, 3 p.m. on Saturday.
