Harriet M. Beckley, 73, 506 N. Broadway, died at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at Dukes Continuing Care Center.

She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Peru, the daughter of Harry and Edna Smalley Temple. She married Charles "Aaron" Beckley on July 27, 1947, at Main Street United Methodist Church. He survives.

Mrs. Beckley was a 1943 graduate of Peru High School and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She retired from Amtrol after 38 years as a secretary. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.

Other survivors include one daughter, Marcia Shields, Houston.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Main Street United Methodist Church, 81 W. Main St., with Dr. Dean Fager officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery Chaple.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
