On January 11, 1916, Assunta, at the age of 28, set sail from Genova, Italy aboard the S.S. America with her two small children, son Lucio age 2 and daughter Sara age 1 arriving in New York City on January 27, 1916.
There she and the children were met at the ship by her husband Guiseppe Agostini who had been waiting for the family to come to America. Assunta and Guiseppe then moved
to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where they had three more children, daughters Eva, Viola and Gloria.
Assunta died November 1956 and was buried on November 29, 1956 at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
She was survived by her beloved husband Giuseppe and their loving children: son Lucio Franco Walter Agostini and daughters Sara Maria Giovanna Agostini-Serafini, Eva L. Agostini-Ciaccio, Viola Teresa Agostini-Keller and Gloria Agostini-Colicchio.
