She met and married Mr. Booker Threatt and together they reared their family in the Jeddo Community. In the early seventies, the family moved to the Shiloh Community of Frisco City, Alabama, and she united with the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Upon her husband's death in 1978, Mary moved with her children to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Years later, she moved to Pensacola, Florida, and united with the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Cantonment, Florida, while living with her daughter, Annie.
Mary moved back home to Shiloh (Frisco City) and re-united with the church family while in the dedicated care of her daughter, Shirley and daughter-in-law, Sharon. Her final move came on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in the early hours at the Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville, Alabama.
Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Johnnie C. Riley and Frederick Threatt, a daughter, Amanda T. Thomas, and a grandson, Tommie Threatt.
Memories of Mary will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her, including her five sons: Willie J. Threatt, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gilbert Threatt, Chicago, Illinois, Willie Earl Threatt, Pensacola, Florida, Richard (Sharon) Threatt and Patrick (Rose) Threatt, both of Frisco City, Alabama; six daughters: Willie Mae (Greeley) Evans, Uriah, Alabama, Dorothy Threatt, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Shirley (Samuel) Roberts, Frisco City, Alabama, Annie (Marshall) English and Katie Threatt, both of Pensacola, Florida, and Marylyn English, Atlanta, Georgia; a son-in-law: Ronnie Thomas, Greenville, Alabama; a brother, John (Bernadette) Riley, Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, Minnie Sanders, Monroeville, Alabama, and Josephine Moses, Pensacola, Florida; twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
