Mr. George "Griff" Albright, 80, of Cumming died March 14,2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. A native of Randolph County, Alabama, Mr. Albright was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in 101st Airborne Division with the 32nd Glider Infantry. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Albright retired from sales with Leiphart Chevrolet in Decatur and was a member of Newsong Community Church. He is preceeded in death by his wife, Betty Albright.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Hayes of Newman; grandchildren, Tracy and Chris Wakefield of Cumming, Tonya Leigh Hayes of Cumming, Jason Allen Hayes of Newman; great grandson, Tanner Wakefield; great granddaughter, Brelin Wakefield, both of Cumming; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, at 1:00pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Entombment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at a reception following the entombment at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
