Obituary for Ronald McAlexander (Lebanon)
Ronald Monroe McAlexander, son of Monroe and Edna Harless McAlexander, was born April 27, 1942, in Denver, Colorado. He departed this life Thursday, September 25, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, four months, and twenty-eight days.
On June 2, 1970, he was united in marriage to Barbara Aleine Hicklin, and they shared the last forty-four years.
His parents preceded him in death.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; three daughters, Denise Goode, and her husband, Greg, of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Debbie Carter, and her husband, Matt, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ronda Dennis, and her husband, Scott, of Stoutland, Missouri; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Gill, of Texarkana, Arkansas, Shirley Metelski, of Lakeside, California, and Andrea Rush, of Calico Rock, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Colorado, but was raised in Leavenworth, Kansas. He entered the military at the age of sixteen, and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Leavenworth, where he worked for the city for a few years. He soon began working as a United States Civil Service employee at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base. Later, after moving to Lebanon, Missouri, he worked at Fort Leonard Wood for a number of years. Upon retiring from the civil service, he was employed by Electrovert Corporation in Camdenton.
Ronnie had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to casinos. He also liked collecting barbed wire, and country dancing. He was a wonderful story teller with a mischievous side, and enjoyed scaring his children and grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-two years.

Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
