Howard G. Sinclair, 72, of New Kensington died Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2001) at his home.

He was born Oct. 12, 1929, in New Kensington. For 35 years, he lived in Ashtabula, Ohio, and moved back to New Kensington in 1981.

A Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War.

He was a tax specialist 16 years for the Internal Revenue Service, Pittsburgh, retiring this year.

Previously, he was a supervisor for Elkem Metals in Ashtabula, retiring in 1981 after 35 years employment.

Mr. Sinclair was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Kensington, and was a mason at the Orin Lodge in Kingsville, Ohio.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Betty L. Hartman McCollim Sinclair; a son, John Howard Sinclair, at home; six daughters, Mrs. Mark (Karen) Thimons of Spring Church in Kiski Township, Mrs. William (Monica) McCollim German of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Dan (Margie) McCollim McHenry of Ebensburg, Mrs. Jim (Melanie) McCollim Anderson of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Rick (Deborah) Blystone of Apollo and Mrs. Chris (Susan) Stewart of Avonmore; 18 grand-children; and a sister, Effie Lou Montanari of New Kensington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Howard and Mildred Heckman Sinclair.

Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday to the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Ave., New Kensington, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Nelson T. Thayer. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
