A memorial service will be held March 18 for Duane Prom of Eugene, who died March 10 of a heart attack. He was 66.
He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in St. Cloud, Minn., to George and Elisabeth Secord Prom. He married Phyllis Holmes on Nov. 28, 1964, in Junction City.
He graduated from Central Point High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a woodworker, worked in a mill and was a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking, working crossword puzzles, camping and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Latisha Morgan of Redmond and Shane Prom of Eugene; two brothers, Veryle of Harrisburg and George of Pipe Creek, Texas; four sisters, Mary Schoen and Arvella Kokkeler, both of Junction City, and Sandi Hay and Cheryl Whittaker, both of Eugene; and six grandchildren.
Saturday's service will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Church of Christ in Junction City. Alpha Cremation Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
