Julia Ann Walls, 82, of Gosport, Ind., passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014. Julia was born in Russell Springs, Ky., to Arnold and Mintie (Stephens) Grider on Sept. 15, 1932. She was married to Warren “Gene” Walls for 47 years. Julia was a homemaker, wife, and mother who loved her family with all her heart. She loved to attend and host family gatherings, having cookouts and music parties. Julia enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flowers and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Tim Crabtree, Leonard Crabtree, and Jerry Crabtree; and seven siblings.
Julia is survived by her husband, Warren “Gene” Walls; children, Dr. Ibrahim and Sue Shalaby of Maryville, and Fred and Brenda (Richardson) Crabtree of Freedom, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Theresa Winkles of Bloomington, Ind.; special friend and neighbor for 40 years, Katie Shrum; grandchildren, Sarah Hawkins, Travis Willis, Pawnee Crabtree, Justin, Jordan, Jarrett, Jerricho, and Jake Crabtree, Tanner (Heather) Winkles, Alissa Winkles, Elijah Shane Crabtree, Marisa Shrum, Joshua (Valeria) Antras, Jason (Mandi) Antras, Cayleah Antras and Vonda Crabtree; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brother, William D. “Buster” Grider of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister-in-law, Clara Grider of Indianapolis; special nephews, Don (Vicky) Gaskins, David Partlow, Mervin Haley, and Larry Crider; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport, Ind., on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Leroy
