AGE: 56 • Wilmington

Natalie O'Connor, age 56, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, with her loving family by her side.

The daughter of Jerome and Joanne (Zambinini) Donohue, Natalie was a graduate of Padua Academy. Upon graduation, she began working with ICI America. After 10 years she left her career to begin and raise her family at home. When her children grew older, Natalie returned to work as a teacher's aide with St. Elizabeth's elementary school, where her children attended. For over 17 years, she worked closely with countless students and faculty.

Natalie dedicated her life to her husband and children. She was her children's biggest fans as they grew up; whether at their sporting events or other activities. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed annual family vacations to Wildwood, NJ. She especially valued her time as "Mom-mom" with her four grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, John; her children, Christine, Jennifer, John Jr., Patrick and Jessica; her grandchildren, Jenna, Mason, John III and Carter; her mother, Joanne Donohue; her brothers, Martin Donohue (Tina), Michael Donohue (Carrie) and Jerome Donohue (Bernadette); her sister, Susan Kane (John) and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Naomi O'Connor; brothers-in-law, Michael O'Connor (Gina), Timothy O'Connor (Gwen), William O'Connor (Beth), James O'Connor (Diane); and her sister-in-law, Catherine O'Connor.

She was preceded in death by her loving father, Jerome.

The family would like to thank the St. Elizabeth community as well as the staff at Christiana Care and the Helen Graham Center for their care and support.

Family and Friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to St. Elizabeth Elementary School, 1500 Cedar Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
