Martin Karchner, 66, RR2 Sugarloaf, died Friday morning at his residence. Born in Hazleton January 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Martin Russell Karchner Sr. and Florence Miller Karchner. For forty years in lived in Sugarloaf and prior to that Nescopeck. He was the owner of Karns Moving and Storage in Hazleton and manager of Alto Trucking, Hazleton. He was a member of Christ Memorial UCC, Hazleton, and an army veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma "Peg" Brown Karchner in 1987 and a son Keith in 1988, brother Ellsworth Karchner and a sister Doris Kutchi. He is survived by two children (private), seven grandchildren and two sisters. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Briggsville.
