David Donnell (Mother's maiden name was McDonnell)CLOHESY.
Son of Thomas B. Clohesy and Lucy McDonnell. Because of the
family "scandal" concerning the Golden Rule Building and Loan Association, Lucy McDonnell maintained that Thomas B.
Clohesy had died and that she was a widow. David never acknowledge that Thomas B. Clohesy was his father on his
draft registration form or in any of the USA Federal Census
Records. The only obituary which contained the name of Thomas B.Clohesy was that of his mother's obituary. It never appeared again in any of his siblings or that of his
father, David Clohesy. His father's name is mentioned on his (David D. Clohesy) death certificate. The entire family never spoke
of him after he vanished shortly after the "shortage of funds" from his firm. David was the grandson of David Clohesy and Catherine McNamara (formally of Limerick Co. Ireland. His father, Thomas B. Clohesy was the oldest of
the boys. Only his sister, Mary Ann Clohesy was older. Mary Ann was born in 1866 in Pennsylvania and Thomas B.Clohesy was born
on March 1, 1868 in Chicago, Illinois on the same month and day that his
son, David Donnell was born. David Donnell Clohesy never married but lived with and took care of his mother, Lucy McDonnell
until her death on June 07, 1956.
