Mrs Hudson became organist at Central Congregational Church in New York City at the age of 16 and played in churches and directed choirs in New York, Buffalo and Rochester. She served overseas as a director of a YMCA Mothers Corners during World War I. She came to Buffalo in 1918 and taught piano, organ and voice.
Mrs Hudson retired in 1936 and in 1941 went to Winston-Salem to live with a daughter, Mrs Martha Borthwick.
