Last Monday morning at about 2 o'clock H.D. Barrow passed away after an illness of several months. The end was no unexpected as he had been in a serious condition for several weeks. The remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows cemetery here Tuesday afternoon. The funeral services held at the Christian church at 2:30 o'clock, were conducted by Rev. O.O.O. Newton and Rev. I.A.Dyches. The large crowd of friends attending the last sad rites testified to the esteem in which this good man was held by his neighbors.
Mr. Barrow was born September 24, 1852, being 74 years of age. He came to Mills county about 30 years ago and had lived in the county ever since. He was a director in the Trent State Bank and had considerable property. He was a member of the Christian church and a man of strong religious convictions.
Mr. Barrow leaves a wife, one sister, Mrs. W.D. Jones of Ozan, Ark., and one brother W.A. Barrow of Hickory, Okla., several nieces and nephews and other relatives besides a host of friends to mourn his death. The Eagle joins the friends of the sorrowing ones in offering them sympathy in this sad hour.
