Lee Center - M. Louis Bartlett, 60, died this morning in the Rose Hospital, Rome. He had been in poor health for some time and seriously ill one week.

The son of William and Martha Whitford Bartlett, he was born in Osceola August 27, 1894, and on July 17, 1918, at Lowville, married the former Dianna H. Swancott.

Following their marriage, the couple settled in this village where Mr. Bartlett owned and operated a garage for many years.
Mr. Bartlett was one of the organizers and a charter member of the Lee Center Volunteer Fire Department, and a charter member of the Point Rock Fish and Game Club. From 1932 to 1940 he served as town clerk for the town of Lee, and also served for two years as a deputy director of Civil Defense for the town of Lee. A great sports enthusiast, in his younger days he captained the Lee Center baseball team.

He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Grace Seaberry, Syracuse, four brothers, John, Coonrod, Earl, Westdale, and William and Frank, Redfield, also several nieces and nephews.
